# ServiceNow

> Connect a native ServiceNow instance to Myrmex — incidents, problems, change requests and catalog items over the official REST APIs, through a Collector.

Connect a native **ServiceNow** instance so Myrmex can work your service-management records alongside the rest of your environment. [Hydra](/documentation/ai-agents/hydra) operates it live over ServiceNow's official REST APIs — Table, Attachment, Aggregate, Change Management and Service Catalog — through a [Collector](/documentation/agent-endpoint-security/collector-mode) on your network, reading and acting on demand with nothing stored on the Myrmex side.

<Note>
  This connector is for a **native ServiceNow instance**. If you reach service
  management through Tivit's gateway instead, use
  [SensrIT](/documentation/integrations/sensrit).
</Note>

## What Myrmex Can Do

<CardGroup cols={2}>
  <Card title="Incidents and problems" icon="ticket">
    Work incidents, problems and problem tasks through their lifecycle.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Change requests" icon="clipboard-check">
    Normal, standard and emergency changes — with model-validated transitions,
    approvals, tasks, affected CIs and conflict checks.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Requests and catalog" icon="cart-shopping">
    REQ, RITM and SCTASK records, including catalog ordering and its approvals.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Any table" icon="table">
    The generic Table API reaches any table, with aggregate statistics and
    directory and choice-list lookups.
  </Card>
</CardGroup>

Attachments work on any record, and a single call enriches a ticket with its full context.

## Before You Start

* A **ServiceNow user** for the integration. Its **roles define what the integration can see and change** — a narrower set of roles still connects, it just leaves the agents with less reach.
* The **instance host**, for example `acme.service-now.com`.
* A **Collector** that can reach the instance over HTTPS.

<Tip>
  Keep the roles least-privilege and scope them to the tables Myrmex should
  touch. Changes still pass through your approval before they run.
</Tip>

## Step 1 — Create the Credential in ServiceNow

<Steps>
  <Step title="Create the integration user">
    Add a user dedicated to Myrmex, with a strong password.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Assign its roles">
    Give it the roles for the records you want Myrmex to work — incidents,
    problems, changes, catalog requests. The roles bound what the integration
    can read and change.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Record the details">
    Note the **instance host**, the **username** and the **password**.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Step 2 — Add the Integration in Myrmex

From the **Directory**, choose **Add Integration → ServiceNow**, then fill in:

| Field | Description |
| - | - |
| **Name** | A unique name for this instance. |
| **Description** | Optional note to identify it. |
| **Full URL** | The instance host without scheme — for example `acme.service-now.com`. A port embedded in the host takes precedence over the Port field. |
| **Authentication Type** | The authentication method; `basic` by default. |
| **Username** | The ServiceNow user of the integration. |
| **Password** | That user's password — stored encrypted. |
| **Verify ssl** | Validate the instance certificate (on by default). |
| **Collector** | The [Collector](/documentation/agent-endpoint-security/collector-mode) that reaches ServiceNow. |

<Note>
  The integration is tied to the **context** you have selected when you create
  it — see [Core concepts](/documentation/getting-started/concepts#how-your-account-is-organized).
</Note>

## Connect

Click **Connect** to validate and finish. ServiceNow then appears in the **Directory** under **ITSM and Assets**. New to integrations? See the [Integrations overview](/documentation/integrations/overview).
