We created this FAQ to help you better understand the MYRMEX platform and its protection agent. Think of it as your friendly guide to all things MYRMEX!
Imagine MYRMEX as an advanced security system for your computer or network. It functions as a headquarters that monitors and protects your devices against cyber threats, such as viruses and intrusions.
The MYRMEX Agent is a program (like a superhero) that you install on your computers and servers. It works silently in the background, protecting your devices and communicating with the MYRMEX platform to report any suspicious activity.
Installation is simple:

Access Platform

Access the MYRMEX platform

Add Device

Add a new device (your computer or server)

Choose OS

Choose the operating system (Windows, Linux, etc.)

Get Command

The platform will provide a special command

Install

Execute this command on the device you want to protect. Installation and configuration happen automatically
The MYRMEX Agent doesn’t demand much from your computer:

Processor

Minimum of 1 vCPU (the computer’s “brain”)

Memory

Minimum of 1 GB of RAM (the “short-term memory”)

Storage

Minimum of 10 GB of disk space (where files are stored)
No, the MYRMEX Agent needs internet to actively communicate with the platform. If it loses connection, the platform will register it.
If the agent has stopped connecting to Myrmex Cloud, check these points:

Authorization

Check if the device has been authorized on the platform

Internet

Confirm internet access

Configuration

See if configuration file it’s correct

Firewall

Verify that a firewall or network settings are not blocking the connection
You can authorize a new device directly through the Devices tab on the Myrmex web platform. Centurion will guide you if any additional steps are needed.
MYRMEX is more than just an EDR; it’s an Operational Orchestrator. While it uses EDR primitives (direct kernel interaction) for surgical precision, its core value lies in the Multi-Agent System (MAS) that creates strategies, automates complex workflows, and integrates your entire security stack.
It is our “Anti-Hallucination” philosophy. The Myrmex AI agents are strictly prohibited from simulating command outputs or assuming system states. They must execute real commands and verify the raw OS response (the “Ground Truth”) before providing any information or taking the next step.
